A Nod to Nature

A Nod to Nature is still in its early days — much like the subjects that inspire our work, this space is still growing. Some pages and features are in progress as we carefully shape the full experience, and you may notice changes as we refine along the way.

A Nod to Nature

A nod is an expression of admiration, approval, or amusement; an intentional salute to anything worthy of our attention. These reverent acknowledgments are the ways of a child, often forgotten as we grow. Pausing at a century-old tree to run our fingers along the gentle lines in its bark. Noticing the morning shadows dance across the kitchen floor and swaying along. Admiring a sunflower, chatting with a squirrel, or thanking the bees.

These habits came to the forefront on our homestead where we spent over a decade tending gardens, caring for animals, and regenerating the land. Each season made its mark in its own way. Life moved at nature’s pace, teaching us patience, balance, and respect for the soil that sustained us. Although we recently relocated, leaving our permaculture paradise for a new adventure, the rhythm stayed with us:

Pause. Notice. Honor what we see, hear, and feel.

A Nod to Nature is more than a name; it’s a reminder to slow down, look closer, and give a nod to the things worth noticing.
